Hello, everyone. My name is Sierra Hobbs. I'm the producer for Calliope Films, and this is part one of our sub series of Jadallah's Dollas: Where do the dolla dolla bills go, y'all? Pre production is, without a doubt, the most important step in video production. So let's cut to the more you know, Cam.
The more you know going into production, the more you know and have everything within your control planned, the more ready that you will be with everything outside of your control on the day.
Like… I can't control the weather or traffic or other people in this space. I'm sorry.
All of those steps take a lot of time. So pre production should be a big piece of your budget. And we are happy to do all of those steps with or for you. If not, that's when you find yourself on the day of the shoot or worse in the editing room, immediately having to solve problems and often compromising your vision because you didn't do the pre production steps necessary to begin with.
Good and thorough pre production will always guarantee you the most efficient shoot possible and will absolutely save you money in the long run. So tell us about a time that you maybe overlooked a step of pre production and then had to deal with it in the long run in the comments below. Let's talk about it.
